Composite Diamond Heat Spreaders for Thermal management solutions



Composite Diamond Heat Spreaders have a thermal conductivity of 600 W/mK and an average CTE(coefficient of thermal expansion) of 3.0 in the range of 20-300°C. Therefore, Composite Diamond as a heat spreader material is intermediate between CVD diamond (Diafilm TM) and other heat spreading materials, such as AlN and Cu. Composite Diamond Heat Spreader material is produced by high temperature, high pressure sintering of small diamond particles to form a homogenous integrown diamond lattice structure. The fine grain structure and uniform distribution of the binder makes this material ideal for heat spreader applications. It can be used for

devices with small heat sources, such as laser diodes (Lds), laser diode arrays (LDAs) and high power light emitting diodes (LEDs).

The surface of Composite Diamond Heat Spreaders can be polished to a high degree of surface quality and flatness. Based on well controlled, high precision laser cutting, excellent edge qualities can be achieved, which is required for edge emitting laser diodes and laser diode arrays.
